Beyond the apprenticeship of one of the two working languages of the United Nations, to be a student or member of Alliance Française also signifies bringing moral and eventually financial support in any sincere or unselfish case, to a set of ideas driven by a language used by more than 500 million persons, in 49 countries on the 5 continents. Today, French is much more that a tool for the economical, political or cultural promotion of France . It supports universal concepts of unity, solidarity, diversity and liberty brought about by all the supporters of a free world.

In this way, a little more than 100 persons sharing these ideals are presently members of Alliance Française in Grenada , including the essential part of the French community living on the island.

Why a subscription fee?

To ensure the financing of the Association and the continuation of the mission. The revenue from the subscription is the main source of financing for the Alliance after the subvention from the French government and the revenue coming from the class registration fees.

Why pay the subscription fee?

Certain people pay it to make the most of the advantages and supplementary privileges offered (which easily reimburses the cost of the card). Others pay it because the Alliance contributes to the progress of the teaching of French to the children of Grenada . Others pay it to have access to a network, which does not cease to develop itself as much in Grenada as in the rest of the world. Finally, others pay it because they are proud to be associated with what one calls an Alliance Française. This last reason should not it become the principal one of all?.

How does one become a member?

Simply request and pay a fixed subscription fee, either in cash or by cheque paid to the order of " Alliance française de la Grenade ".

For 2011

membres bienfaiteurs : EC$100, validité de un an - abonnement bibliothèque, et invitations aux Support members: EC$100, valid for one year - library subscription and invitations to cultural events.

Ordinary members: EC$75 for a family, EC$50 for a single person. Valid for one year library subscription and information about cultural events

Temporary members: EC$25 per person, valid for six months - library subscription and information about cultural events.
